Synopsis:

Jesse always dreamed of leaving the farm to explore the ruins of the big cities he’d heard about his whole life. Responsible for his kid brother and searching for an uncle he’s never met before, he isn’t sure he can navigate the perils of life among con artists and thieves long enough to find him.

I didn’t particularly like the idea of killing the handsome, blue-eyed stranger, but he wouldn’t be the first.
The thing itself was raggedy, with patched wheels and different-colored boards. One thing was for certain: the metal cage was fully intact. Through the open door of the cage, I spied someone with blonde hair, fast asleep in a corner.
So would those excerpts grab your attention and keep you reading? I’ve certainly enjoyed the book so far! (Spice warning: the adult interaction is slow burn, on the page, and definitely spicy. If that’s not for you, this may not be your best reading choice.)
