Book Beginnings on Friday and Book Blogger Hop – January 15, 2021

Book Beginnings on Fridays is hosted each week by Rose City Reader. It’s a chance to share the first sentence or so of the book you are reading this week.

I’ve finished several books this week! Just finished The Broken Spine by Dorothy St. James and A Curious Incident by Vicki Delany. I’ve been on a bit of a cozy mystery kick lately.

Continuing the mystery theme, next up is Out of Hounds by Rita Mae Brown. It will be released on January 19, 2021.

Wind carries messages. As Jane Arnold, “Sister,” flew across a large pasture sleeping under a light snow, the message hitting her face was a dramatic change in the weather. Jefferson Hunt started the day at ten in the morning under relatively balmy skies for early February. The temperature hung at a decent 42⁰F.

I have long been a fan of Rita Mae Brown’s Mrs. Murphy mysteries. I haven’t read all of the “Sister” Jane books, but I’m looking forward to this one. Do you think you’d give it a read?

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. It starts each Friday and runs through the following Thursday. Each week, there’s a new prompt featuring a book-related question. It’s designed to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, make new blogging friends, and gain followers.

Being as this is a new blog and I’m just getting into the swing of things, I don’t yet have a set number of posts that I schedule. And sometimes “scheduling” means writing the night before and setting it to post just a few hours later. I’m working on finding a rhythm!

  1. Good luck in finding a blogging rhythm that works for you. 🙂

  2. I read a Rita Mae Brown mystery years ago and enjoyed it. I don’t know why I never read more by her. This sounds like a good one. I hope you have a great weekend.
