It’s been a good bookish year! Looking back, historical fiction was one of my top categories for the year. I read so many good books, it was a challenge to narrow it down to a handful of favorites. The Grammarians, Cathleen Schine (review to come) – since I haven’t reviewed this in full yet, I will just say that it was a glorious h0mage to words, how we use them, how we view them. And one of the characters was a nitpicky editor type, just like me! I loved it.

I love seeing everyone’s top reads. I am interested in Between the Sound and Sea. Shrimping West Texas sounds different, and I’m always looking for interesting nonfiction books.
Carla, I really enjoyed Shrimping West Texas! I thought it sounded interesting, but it was also enjoyable. The two are not the same. Give it a try!
