This week’s topic is Water. So I’m featuring books that have water in the title. Or maybe rain, since we’re woefully short on rain in my part of the world. Or hurricanes, since Idalia is heading into the Gulf of Mexico. Not likely to hit us here, but hurricanes are never far from our minds at this time of year.
- 1 Dead in Attic: Post-Katrina Stories by Chris Rose
- A Furious Sky by Eric Jay Dolin
- Fifty Words for Rain by Asha Lemmie
- Isaac’s Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson
- Of Songs and Saltwater by Heather Carter
- The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese
- The Neon Rain by James Lee Burke
- The Scent of Rain and Lightning by Nancy Pickard
- The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jiminez
- The Weight of Water by W.A. Schwartz
Have you read any of these books? Are any of them on your TBR list?
Fifty Words for Rain sounds good.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
It’s one on my list I haven’t read…yet!
I thought of several ways to do today’s post, but not the way you did it, I like it! I didn’t have very many covers with water in the title, and didn’t think about rain or storms 😉 For my list, I am featuring 10 books on my physical bookshelves that have water on the cover that I still need to read. Have a great day!
There are so many options with this theme. I love weeks like that! Happy day to you, too!
I like the rain/storm take on today’s theme! Stay safe this hurricane season! My TTT: https://www.literacious.com/2023/08/29/top-ten-tuesday-water/
Thanks, Laura! So far, the unrelenting high pressure has kept any tropical development away from us. That may change as we get closer to fall, but still, that doesn’t necessarily mean storms will come our way. We hope not!
Books with the word “rain” in the title is something that never occurred to me, and you found some good ones😁
Thanks, Tammy!
I loved The Scent of Rain and Lightning! Such a great book. The cover is gorgeous, too!
I haven’t read it yet, but I will eventually!
Nice twist on today’s topic. There were different ways to go and I haven’t seen anyone else thinking of rain and storms. I haven’t read any of these, but the covers are definitely eye catching.
I love rain! It’s always such a treat when it rains here in Arizona, even though it sometimes leads to storms and flooding. Still, the desert always flourishes when it gets a nice drink 🙂
Happy TTT!

I’ve seen pictures of the desert just blooming after a rain. I’ll bet that’s glorious to see in person! We usually get plenty of rain here in Louisiana, and things stay green. Not this year! We are dry, dry, dry.
Of Songs and Saltwater sounds fun! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
