Word of the Week: June 12, 2023

Word of the Week: a bookish meme hosted here on Mondays in which we share a word that we find entertaining, enlightening, edifying, or just plain fun to say! Share your own word on your blog, then help me grow the meme and come share it here on mine!

This week’s word may be familiar to some of you (or it may not). It was inspired by a YouTube video we watched last night, Drunk Irish People Try a Spelling Bee Competition. (Be aware, there are some swears in the video. And if you haven’t yet discovered The TRY Channel, check out the other videos! Irish people try all kinds of things, and the results are frequently hilarious.) This was one of the words they were asked to spell after drinking a fair amount of tequila.

Now, some people couldn’t spell this sober, much less drunk! If you want to find out how the Irish folks did, go take a peek at the video.

What about you? Could you spell “triskaidekaphobia”?
