Here’s a fun word for this time of year!
This word apparently fell into disuse, where “ugly” remained part of our everyday vocabulary. “Ugsome”, according to Wordsmith.org, comes from the Old Norse ugga (to fear). I figured this could be a fun word for describing scary things around Halloween, like the things that jump scare you at haunted houses.
